Successful Completion of Term II, Alhamdulillah

End of Term II of the Summer Camp.

It all started, as usual with the recitation of Surah and a talk by our head teacher. Then, we had the Qiraat Competion with three partcipants each from As-Sama who recited Surah Ghashiyah, An-Najm who recited Surah , Al-Qamar who recited Surah Fajr and Ash-Shams who recited Surah 3Abasa.

After this, we had a skit under the superb guidance of the teachers and assistants, by our youngest class As-Sama on the Usefulness of Trees. The message was clear! A Muslim takes care of his environment for this earth like everything else is a blessing and gift from his creator Allah Subhan wa Ta3ala and this was clearly elaborated on through the hadeeth.

We had another talk by our head teacher on the topic Wealth and Wife- Fitnah? She discussed how blessings bestowed upon us by Allah can be a test.It was a very useful reminder indeed.

Or concluding program was the Quiz Competition with four teams each comprising of two member each from Al-Qamar and Ash-Shams. This time we started off with the rapidfire round, with Guess the Qaari and General Awareness. This time the points were kept secret till the end of the program. Finally Team 'Umar came out the winners followed by Team 'Ali, then Team AbuBakr and Team Uthman.

The performances were over and goody-bags were distributed but it wasn't the end of the celebration. There was a guest and he arrived right after 'Asr. He gave a very good talk on the Importance of attaining 'Ilm(knowledge). He also stressed how important it was to grab any opportunity to seek knowledge and a good 3 weeks were also not bad for a start or a refresher elaborating how women were at the forefront of scholarship in the early years of Islamic History and how it benefited the Ummah.

Many thanks again to all the TaalibAl-Ilm ( students of knowledge) and the staff, teachers and assistants for their contribution. JazakumAllahuKhayran. May Allah accept this from us. Ameen.

Our Term I was a success, Alhamdulillah

End of Term I of the Summer Camp.

The childtren  and teachers were present full swing. Parents and family, too. Guests started pouring in  and soon the huge halls with ...seating was full.
We were celebrating the successful completion of the first Term of the Summer Camp at our main branch at Cockburn Road and at BTM layout..
We started with the recitation of Surah from the Qur'an by our head teacher followed by a talk.
The first performances were by the BTM team.
It included all that we had learnt.....
Next we had another talk by our head teacher.
It was time for the Cockburn Road branch now.
We started with the Qirat Competition.
As-Sama kids recited Surah Al A3la.
An-Najm recited Surah Al A3la as well.
Girls from Al-Qamar recited An Naziaat and those from Ash-Shams recited Surah Naba.
The three Ns of Darul Ayman were the judges!

This was followed by the Quiz. We had four teams of 4 participants each.
Team Maryam, Team Fatima, Team Asiyah and Team Khadija. We had 3 rounds. All four teams tied at the end of round 1. Team Asiyah and Khadijah took the lead at the end of the 2nd round but Team Khadija won by 10 points in the end. All the teams were happy to have participated.

.Our skit was the next up in line. Sh., the narrator, Ay. as the ghafil(lost in the things of this world while forgetting the hereafter) Jameela aapa and Am. as Chand khala and ..as Khadeeja begum brought the sad reality of those who have turned their backs to the word of Allah and taken the materials  of this world as their only goal to light by their comic performances supported by Ha.and the other sisters...

The audience was throroughly entertained while gaining knowledge by these programs as well as the not so trivial trivia of our teacher.
After another talk by her, we concluded by announcing the winners of the Qirat competition and distributing goody bags.

In a nutshell, we are truly grateful to Allah Subhanu wa Ta'aala for making it a success . through the
  • Fantastic effort by the teachers- The whole team, together with the assistants and the volunteers. They worked really hard and it showed.
  • The enthusiasm and perseverence of the students. The cute As-Sama or preteens of An-Najm, the very young ladies of Al-Qamar or the leaders(Ummis) in the making of Ash Shams put in their very best! The lesson learnt by Jameela begum was learnt by the whole set of the audience.
  • The absolutely supportive parents- who spent their time being part of the effort by being there for not just the celebrations but the classes as well!

MIGRATION OF THE HEART TO ALLAH (AZZAWAJAL):

MIGRATION OF THE HEART TO ALLAH (AZZAWAJAL):

By Bint Ahmad

Hijrah to Allah consists of abandoning what HE hates and doing what HE loves and accepts.

Hijrah of the heart is required of a person as long as he breaths.

The heart's hijrah requires migrating "FROM" one state "TO" another. A person migrates with his heart:
FROM Loving other than Allah TO Loving HIM

FROM offering servitude to othe rthan Allah TO Offering it to HIM

FROM fearing other than Allah TO fearin HIM

FROM having hope in other than Allah TO having hope in HIM

FROM relying on other than Allah TO relying on HIM

FROM asking and deploring other than Allah TO asking and deploring HIM

FROM submitting and surrendering to other than Allah TO submitting and surrendering to HIM.

This is precisely the meaning of "FLEEING UNTO ALLAH (AZZAWAJAL), as Allah says:

فَفِرُّواْ إِلَى اللَّهِ
"FLEE THEN UNTO ALLAH........."
SURAH ADH DHARIYAT 51:50

When you set you heart on undertaking this journey of migrating to Allah (Azzawajal), you should take a companinon to befriend along the way.

He who intends to undertake this journey should accompany the "DEAD" WHO IN REALITY ARE ALIVE! Their company will enable him to reach his goal. And he should avoid the company of the living people who are in reality dead ---- they will only disrupt his way.

Nothing is more important to a traveller than associating with the former company and disowning the latter.

One of the SALAF said:

" GREAT INDEED IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE WHO ARE DEAD BUT WHOSE REMEMBRANCE BRINGS LIFE TO THE HEART, AND THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE BUT WHOSE COMPANY CAUSES DEATH TO THE HEART".

Thus nothing is more harmful to a person than his peers and associates. His vision and aspirations are usually limited to imitating them, competing with them, and following their footsteps --- even if they entered a lizard's hole, he would love to enter with them.

You must turn away from the company of the ignorant associates, to the company of those who are absent in person, but whose bounties and good influence continues to exixt in the world.
